What Is Pilates?

Pilates is intelligent exercise — not mindless movement. It’s a system of precise, controlled exercises designed to strengthen from the inside out — building core stability, balanced mobility, and lasting resilience. Every movement begins at the core and integrates through the whole body, improving posture, coordination, and ease. There are seven pieces of equipment, but it can also be done quite effectively on a mat with small apparatus such as: foam roller, stability balls and bands etc.

Kathleen’s Approach

With over 40 years of experience and multiple certifications, Kat is a Pilates Rehabilitation Master Practitioner and international teacher of teachers. Since 2008, she has worked exclusively within leading physiotherapy clinics in Calgary, collaborating with top therapists to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and performance.

Her sessions combine Rehabilitative Pilates for those recovering from pain or injury, and Functional Pilates for those who want to move better, age stronger, and prevent future problems
